J is for Japan
I am reading The Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Murakami “Japan’s most highly regarded novelist” so I thought it would be appropriate to dig up some fun facts on the land of the rising sun. Did you know that less than 2% of Japan's population is Christian, but over two thirds of households celebrate Christmas? It’s a day to relax, be with family and go to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Yup Christmas = KFC. Their website even starts taking advance Christmas orders on December 1 and often sells out completely. KFC, referred to as simple "Kentucky" in Japan, is so popular that most people there think it is a Japanese company. But despite their love of fried chicken, approximately 85% of Japanese people have never tasted turkey. Interesting.
