"We met when we lived in China. I was on vacation in another town and we only saw each other for three days. We lived very far apart and so, when I returned home, we sent letters. At that time we didn't even have a telephone! We wrote letters each week but it took about 20 days for our letters to reach each other. We did this for five years." -Jin Lin Chen, March 15, 2011.
One might say I love love, one can certainly say I love old folks. So it's no wonder why I fell for the Love Ever After project.
Totally fell for this this front row beauty in head-to-toe Burberry at the show on Monday. Loving the combo of the retro-inspired dress and totally modern platforms. I would wear this, everyday. Why are Brits so cool? And why am I such an anglophile?
Although I had mixed feelings about last night's Proenza Schouler show as a whole — I mean I am sure I will fall for it later when I see it in a non-runway context, those two always produce the mind boggling kind of clothes that take me a minute to digest and then appreciate — but there is no denying the footwear. I didn't notice at first, but a peep-toe and a chunky heel! Those are, without a doubt, my two most desired qualities in a shoe. And in one! And in my shoe of choice, the black ankle boot! Everything I need in one shot. Perfection, not practical, but who needs that when you've tasted perfection.
Sorry friends, I have been away in the throngs of a fashion week and other sudden life changes induced mess for way too long now and neglecting this here space. I miss it and am trying to get out of this here head space as NYFW is winding down. Do you know what might do the trick? The shearling jacket that walked down the runway at Rodarte yesterday, in fact I'll take the dress too just to seal the deal.
I just got back from a ten day trip to the UK (hence the blogger disappearing act) and I cannot stop obsessing about this white long-sleeve blouse with a black collar that I didn’t buy for some STUPID reason. I swear this happens to me every vacation — this time I realized my mistake while I was still there, I just never had time to go back to the little shop. Boo.
So in my sartorially frustrated state I have been scouring the internet in search of a replacement and I came across this beauty. Not white no, but the trim is leather! Leather! Amazing. So considering my finances may have been a contributing factor to why I didn’t buy the shirt in England in the first place, someone might have to lend me $425 to get this one. The most depressing part: the original one was like one tenth the price. I'm am idiot.
