New Year, New Scent

The truth is that it is not so much of a new scent, as simply a scent. Unless you consider the mixture of fragrance-free body wash and baby powder deodorant I was wearing last year as a signature smell. You see I have never really been a perfume person — I always figured for the amount of money it costs to buy a bottle, I would rather have a cool new outfit.

But that was before I smelled the wondrous elixir that is Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. It all happened while Christmas shopping a few weeks ago when I decided to make a quick stop at the Chanel makeup counter to check out the nail polish. But for some reason I was uncharacteristically drawn to the perfume section — I smelled No 5 and the others, but Coco Mademoiselle was the one for me and two spritz went on my wrists. Throughout the day whenever I got a whiff, I felt an actual surge of olfactory pleasure run through my whole body. Kinda weird I know, but the guy I was with felt the same way.

I didn't purchase the perfume that day because it was still hard for me to wrap my head around paying 70 euro for something you can't even see. But as I was passing through Heathrow the other day, the Chanel duty free shop beckoned me. I figured it's the new year and what better way to start it than with a new daily ritual involving my first signature scent, especially when smelling it each day will give me something to smile about. And it doesn't hurt that the faces of Coco Mademoiselle happen to be British beauties Kate Moss and Keira Knightley. What is your signature scent?

The perfume I use right now is Chance by Chanel, it's very good!

Coco Mademoiselle is quite good as well, but I don't really like it on me!

I like to switch often so it's more like signature scent of the season. I love how a scent can instantly transport you to a memory back in time with one whiff. Thanks for your comment on my guest post over at The Alternative Wife... I am now following you. xo

Of course perfume must be well chosen. Chanel has the best visible and a collection type of perfume for me. But you know the price is worth it. This perfume is very classy. It is totally an elegant, luxurious spray. Where you have to spray it with caution. LOL. But it's true. For me, I can have it during special occasions only. I have to admit it. It is sweet and boys drive them crazy with this one.
