The Days Aren't so Bad Either...

Pool in the river on Friday, the park on Saturday, the lakes on Sunday. Should have taken more pictures on Sat and Sunday (at least before it was too dark, no photoshop here sorry) but I was too busy swimming, napping, laughing and learning new German words like 'dog food' and 'totally.'

Update: My bro's better pics from Sunday at the lake.

Tacheles

The building is painted in bright colors and a large courtyard behind the building holds several sculptures erected using rubble, debris, vehicles and other objects. There was an appreciable amount of disagreement among the East German and West German artists due to their conflicting views and concepts for the space. In the meantime, however, Tacheles has become a central part of the art, activist, exhibition and communication scenes in Berlin, and is officially registered as Tacheles, e. V.. In 1996 and 1997, politicians, sociologists, architects, and artists discussed the preservation and future use of the complex at Metropolis Berlin, Hochgeschwindigkeitsarchitektur...

My bro finds his true calling and I find mine: documenting Michael's Berlin antics one day at a time. Stay tuned, there is certainly more.

The Sartorialist's Kid

Naturally.

An eye for style obviously runs in the family, but when is too young to have to care about fashion other than anything that involves pink tutus and clashing bright colors? Check out more pics here.

Random Sunday Game

It's called Chinese ping pong and we played (well I only tried once due to nerves) it in the park today with a crew of all ages. You get it, you just keep taking turns going from one side to the other and you're out if you mess up. Apparently there is a bar here where they play this with hundreds of people. I had a hard enough time containing my excitement about all the ping pong tables in the park, and now this!

Wall

Went on a date and walked with him along the Berlin Wall...honestly never thought I would say that.

When You're a Tourist in Berlin...

Why not dress like a German tourist?

P.S. We won't be tourists for long - my bro (above) has been here two weeks and already has a job with a band, a girlfriend and a car.

My Daily O

Happy Birthday Barack!

Jet Lag vs Baby

Been on my London stopover for less than 24 hours and that little Sadie Lake (adorable as she may be) is making me tired, or could it be the time difference? This picture might say it all, very cutely. Andrew has certainly fallen into the role of Dad quite well, he is singing to her in the other room right now as he changes her diaper. So sweet.

Happy Dinner Party

Last night we celebrated Rachael's birthday with a lovely meal of fajitas at Rach and Julia's new apt. It was the quintessential NYC dinner party - 10 people all crammed around a table in a tiny East Village living room on a hot summer night with way too much wine and smoking on the balcony. It was the perfect goodbye to New York for me, but I realized that I was living this typical depiction of people in their lat 20s in New York for the first time. Sure, I've been to my fair share of dinner parties and spent a good amount of time crammed into small Manhattan apartments, but as for both together, this was actually a first in the four years I have lived here. We gave that all up for backyard bbqs in Brooklyn. It's actually quite nice to have friends in the city again, oh and I can't forget to mention the fabulous rooftops that almost make up for the lack of indoor space. Anyway, here are some pics and a big happy birthday to Miss Abrams.
