If you need me this is where I will be...

Off to Cancun tomorrow for a dear friend's wedding. I feel so lucky to get to escape to such a beautiful place. But honestly, I have been so preoccupied with other stuff it didn't even hit me until yesterday when I finally looked at the photos of where we are staying (yeah, that's how preoccupied I've been). My flight is tomorrow morning and I am now officially EXCITED to be with my friends, to not have a laptop to check, to be on the beach and swim in the clear blue water. I remember when they got engaged over a year ago, I can't believe the wedding has come up so quick, can't believe I will be there tomorrow surrounded by so many people I love...

The Great Gatsby: Yes Please!

The trailer for The Great Gatsby is out and it is getting me excited. Directed by Baz Luhrmann of Moulin Rouge (okay) Romeo and Juliet (amazing), I’m hoping it turns out more like the latter. By the looks, sound and music video quality, it seems it is going in that direction. Too bad we have to wait until Christmas to find out.

Googa Mooga Part 3: Brooklyn Details

Here's the last installment of my Googa Mooga festival photo experiment — which is pretty much a lot of people's backsides. But backsides that I was particular drawn to, backsides with style. Take a look.

L'amour à Cannes

Just yesterday I was going off about being single bla bla bla and then these two have to get all lovey dovey in front of the cameras again. Not that all the PDA I saw this weekend wasn't totally groovy, but Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger are just beyond. Is it possible to want to be a couple? Not like a part of a couple, but like actually both of them at once? Sorry...anyway, I can't even really see what they're wearing and I still think they are the world's most stylish pair. Anyone beg to differ?

Googa Mooga Part 2: Brooklyn Love

I've been thinking a lot about relationships lately — in a different way than I have before because it's the first time I have been truly single in a long time. Although as nice as it might be to have a boyfriend to spend the lovely Sunday afternoon that it is right now with, I am learning and trying to be at peace with being alone. I hope this is not a permanent situation, and of course I am open to falling in love again. But I want to feel more content on my own first. I am certainly getting closer to where I want to be, but I am not there just yet.

Anyway, sorry for all the personal stuff, but there is a point: other than a lazy Sunday, another time that it is always nice to be with a significant other is at a concert in the park. And as you know, yesterday I went to Googa Mooga in Prospect Park. Obviously I did not go with a mate, but a lot of people did, and I was there to document all that PDA. So sweet.

Googa Mooga Part 1: Brooklyn Faces

The people of Brooklyn were out in full effect yesterday at the Googa Mooga Festival (do not even ask me what that name means! I don't like it one bit) in Prospect Park and I spent the day getting used to my new camera and snapping shot after shot. It was the perfect place to people watch and play paparazzo. I only got a few evil stares for the slight invasions of privacy. While shooting photos I was also waiting in ridiculously long lines to get delicious local brewed beer, drinking delicious local brewed beer, waiting in ridiculously long lines to get tasty local farm to table food, eating farm to table food, meeting a bunch of randoms and watching the Roots perform. Despite the abundance of queueing, it was a lovely day with perfect weather and amazing light, spent with a new friend. Here are some photos of people I came across along the way. I should also apologize in advance for the massive amounts of photos that are still to come. I just had so much fun with my new gifted camera and want to share. Thanks Mike!

Also these were done without Photoshop and could maybe use some. Anyone want to give it to me for my upcoming birthday?
